SKY:  SAFE KEEPING YAMAS
Safe Keeping:  the responsibility of a guardian

Yamas: (sanskrit) a code of conduct for living virtuously. According to Patanjali the five Yamas are: 1. Ahimsa - non
violence   2. Satya -truth    3. Asteya - non stealing  4. Brahmacharya - moderation of the senses   and  5. Aparagraha
- non-posessiveness, non-greed
Our Philosophy:  Conflict Resolution and  Peace building takes conscious and careful effort every day of our lives.  
Awareness of the Yamas or spiritual truths is the first step.  Positive action is the next step.  Daily meditation is a
wonderful technique to keep ourselves in check and move forward with positive action.  
NextUs: In an effort to bring a positive impact in our community, SKY is working in collaboration with the local
Probation Department for the benefit of teens at risk.  Our goal is to support their connection with society and their
natural environment and provide them with tools for increased self awareness.








Full Circle: This program is offered for the benefit of those who have been effected by a crime.  Our intention is to
develop a panel of caring individuals who would like to share their story with other victims and then contribute to
the education and healing of youthful offenders by communicating the impact of the experience to them.  There is
healing in sharing and it brings us full circle. If you would like to help, you are welcome to join.  This program is led
by Mark Seidler, who has worked extensively with United Nations offices in Asia and Africa, and with the restorative
justice movement in the U.S.A.

Internationally: Laura & Joe Hanshe, under the auspices of the SKY Center have helped to establish a Center for
neglected and indigent women  and have contributed to the construction of a meditation and tutoring center at the
Sharanalayam orphanage in Pollachi, India.  Funds were raised through programs and your kind donations.

Yoga and Meditation classes offered to individuals.  100% of our kids yoga program fees go to support children's

We are a not for profit 501c3 charitable, educational organization located in Sayville, New York.  Our Federally Registered SKY
(Safe Keeping Yamas) Education Center was incorporated on September 11, 2003. Scholarships are available.
